Delivery Associate

DEPARTMENT:   Operations
DEPARTMENT SUPERVISOR:  Driver Supervisor 
LOCATION:     Colorado Beverage Distributing, Inc.

JOB FUNCTION:  To safely deliver the right products to our customers on time in a positive and professional manner.


ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive tractor-trailer or bobtail truck to deliver products to accounts daily. 
  • Unload product and deliver to retail account. 
  • Carry out the company credit policies including collecting cash and other payment. 
  • Operate all equipment in a safe, responsible and professional manner. 
  • Follow prescribed maintenance guidelines including making a pre-trip inspection before operating equipment. 
  • Rotate all products in a customer’s place of business. 
  • Complete all assigned deliveries promptly in an organized and efficient manner without incurring any overtime. 
  • Maintain proper control of all product and monies for which you are responsible including:
    • Proper checking and signing for product delivered to customer
    • Accurate check-out of your load before leaving the warehouse
    • Accurate check-in of returned product and empties
    • Reconciling money and invoices during check-in. 
  • Possess a working knowledge of areas serviced in order to handle routes dispatched. 
  • Performs work tasks safely, and contributes to overall safe work environment. 
  • Follow all company work rules and regulations.

TASKS:

  • Present a positive, professional image of yourself and the Company. 
  • Develop thorough knowledge of all aspects of the job (products, accounts, routes, paperwork, etc.). 
  • Provide a high level of service to customers. 
  • Complete company records accurately and in a timely manner. 
  • Communicate with your supervisors, co-workers and other departments on work-related issues. 
  • Report potential sales opportunities or competitive sales activity to the sales manager or sales epresentative. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

ADMINISTRATIVE SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.  Ability to complete all paperwork in a neat and timely manner.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Effectively communicate work related issues with Mesa staff and customers.  Report competitive activities to appropriate management immediately.  Report safety issues to supervisor in a timely manner.

AREA OF REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
High school diploma or equivalent.

SKILLS SET COMPETENCIES / ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age. 
  • 6 months – 3 years driving experience. 
  • Valid California drivers’ license, Commercial Class A or B preferred. 
  • Acceptable driving record. 
  • Good math skills and accuracy with numbers. 
  • Good written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Capable of repetitively lifting up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis. 
  • Capable of lifting 170 lbs. on occasion. 
  • Must be able to bend, lift, sit, squat and stand for prolonged periods of time. 
  • Capable of driving a vehicle for prolonged periods of time. 
  • Ability to work in a customer’s cold box. 
  • Ability to work in hot and cold temperatures (summer and winter). 
  • Must maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance creating a favorable image and maintain proper conduct.

Merchandiser

DEPARTMENT:   Sales
DEPARTMENT SUPERVISOR:  District Sales Manager

JOB FUNCTION:  Support the Sales Department through display building and installation of point-of-sale materials and to increase the visibility of the Company’s products without having an accident or injury.

ROFLSA:LES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Builds creative, accessible displays in retail accounts using appropriate point-of-sale materials.  Displays should be visible, priced correctly and rotated when appropriate. 
  • Establishes and maintains a professional level of rapport with retail personnel. 
  • Assist sales representatives in developing sales opportunities. 
  • Follow up on all requests and commitments made to the retailer. 
  • Assist sales representatives in cooler resets, product rotation and developing sales opportunities.

TASKS:

  • Stock and rotate shelves from backroom inventories as required. 
  • Consistently manage breakage (identify and communicate). 
  • Rotate backroom stock and keep organized to company standards. 
  • Merchandise shelf area (shelf strips, cooler stickers, etc.) and stock company products on shelves as needed. 
  • Install permanent point-of-sale in the most visible and dominant locations in retail accounts. 
  • Assist in set-up and execution of special promotions and on-premise nights.  
  • Provide route relief when needed. 
  • Performs work tasks safely, and contributes to overall safe work environment. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 
  • Follow all other company policies.

ADMINISTRATIVE SKILLS:
Accurately complete all internal control records, forms and reports in a timely manner.  Attend periodic meetings to discuss sales goals, new products, etc.

FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:
Ability to use a variety of hardware tools, including a hacksaw, drill, screwdriver, staple gun, etc.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Report on significant competitive activity.  Report all competitive prices to management immediately. Communicate with the office when additional products are required.  Good verbal and written communication skills.

AREA OF REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Prefer knowledge of merchandising procedures (displays, point-of-sale, tools, paperwork, etc.).

SKILLS SET COMPETENCIES / ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age. 0 – 3 years merchandising experience preferred. 
  • Must able to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis. 
  • Must be able to lift overhead and stack products weighing up to 22 lbs on an occasional basis.  
  • Must be able to bend, lift, squat, sit, and stand for prolonged periods of time. 
  • Must be able to work in refrigerated rooms for prolonged periods of time. 
  • Must have reliable transportation, maintain an acceptable driving record and valid drivers’ license, and maintain auto insurance coverage in the minimum amount specified by the company. 
  • Must maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance creating a favorable image and maintain proper conduct.

Warehouse Associate

JOB FUNCTION:  Ensure efficient receipt, storage and distribution of product without having an accident or injury.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Rotate stock, always ship the oldest product first and have a thorough knowledge of supplier dating methods and requirements. 
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, sweepers, scrubbers, and delivery trucks in a safe, responsible and professional manner. 
  • Follow prescribed maintenance guidelines including making a pre-trip inspection before operating equipment. 
  • Possess a good knowledge of our products, including product identification, location, and proper handling and storage methods. 
  • Ensure that no product is loaded or reloaded without appropriate paperwork, and report any suspicious or unauthorized removal of product. 
  • Receive products; verify correct items, quantity, and quality before signing for receipt. 
  • Follow all security procedures to safeguard employees, the facility and prevent product loss. 
  • Maintain warehouse to high sanitary and cleanliness standards.

TASKS:

  • Properly work breakage to ensure repackaged product is saleable and of high quality. 
  • Load route trucks with the correct items and quantities in a manner that allows efficient deliveries. 
  • Strip route trucks after delivery routes have been completed. 
  • Performs work tasks safely, and contributes to overall safe work environment and report any unsafe conditions. 
  • Work in a safe manner to avoid injury to yourself or anyone else. 
  • Fill orders for customer will calls. Follow all company work rules and regulations. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent.  Ability to operate forklift, pallet jack and hand-truck

  • Must be at least 21 years of age. 
  • 6 months – 3 years warehouse experience. 
  • Forklift, pallet jack and hand-truck experience. 
  • Must be able to drive and back delivery trucks within the yard. 
  • Must be able to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis. Must be able to lift up to 170 lbs. on occasion. 
  • Ability to bend, lift, squat, sit, and stand for prolonged periods of time. 
  • Ability to work in refrigerated rooms for prolonged periods of time.
