There is nothing better for our retailers, for our business partners, or for us than to start a new year with a “fast start.” To secure a fast start you need to have the best products, the best programs for each retail channel, and a reason for the consumer to buy more on every store visit.

Kicking off the year, January means football and every one of our suppliers offers a football tie-in that will maximize sales. There are also a handful of new items launching in January that will create excitement in the category.

February promotions begin early with Mardi Gras, move into Valentine’s Day, and with all the college hoops taking place, should prove to be an exciting month.

Finally, in my mind, the 2008 beer season really starts in the month of March with March Madness, St. Patrick's Day, and then onto Easter and the kickoff of the spring selling season. The month is sure to be busy with a number of promotional programs offered by our suppliers and several new items launching, not to mention a change in the seasonal calendar, which means all our craft brewers will be celebrating the launch of spring as well.
